India Presence : In India, UKAS works in close partnership with its Indian counterpart accreditation bodies, namely, "NABCB" and "NABL"

Company Profile :

  • UKAS as the UK’s national accreditation body, carries out much work on behalf of Government regulators in the UK, be it accreditation of food safety laboratories or the accreditation of certification bodies which check and ensure the safe manufacture of food products to internationally recognized food quality and safety standards. As well as working with the food industry, UKAS also accredits testing laboratories and certification bodies in many areas, ranging from Aerospace, building and construction; medical laboratories and related healthcare sectors, forensic science testing and health and safety management.

Personal Profile :

  • Mr. Paul Stennett has been Chief Executive, UKAS since 2003, during which time, the business has quadrupled in size to a turnover of £35m. He was awarded an MBE from UK Government for “Services to Business” and appointed an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists for improving quality in medical laboratories.
  • He led a venture capital backed acquisition programme to create £50m natural flavours, colours and ‘nutraceutical’ ingredients business, with acquisitions in the UK, USA and Switzerland. Mr. Stennett did his Food Science and Technology BSc Hons Degree from University of Reading, UK.
