  • Proparco is a subsidiary of Agence Française de Développement (AFD) focused on private sector development. It has been promoting sustainable economic, social and environmental development practices for 40 years. Proparco provides funding and support to both businesses and financial institutions across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle-East. As of end of 2016 our balance sheet was above 5 bln EUR with annual commitments of 1.3 bln EUR.

Personal Profile :

  • Philippe Serres joined Proparco in 2013, first as a Senior Investment Officer in the private equity division, and since the summer 2016 as Head of the Proparco Office for South Asia, based in New Delhi. Prior to that Philippe worked at the European Commission Delegation in Peru, at the microfinance rating agency Planet Rating, and as an Investment Officer in the microfinance team of AFD. Philippe graduated from the Institute of Political Studies of Paris (Sciences-Po) and holds a Masters Degree in Development Studies from the London School of Economics.
